Getting Started with WireWrite UK

Account setup, scheme registration, and your first EIC in 5 minutes

Account setup

Creating your account

Sign up with your email address or use Google sign-in. You'll get a 30-day free trial to explore every feature. No card required to start.

Per-seat pricing

WireWrite UK is sold per seat. Sole traders buy 1 seat; teams add more as they grow. See Billing & pricing for the full breakdown including VAT handling.

Manage your subscription anytime from Settings.

Setting up your profile

Go to Settings to complete your profile. You'll need:

  • Your full name (as it appears on certificates)
  • Your scheme enrolment (NICEIC, NAPIT, ELECSA, STROMA, BESCA, Certsure or ECA) + grade or role
  • A digital signature (draw on screen or upload)
  • A 4-digit signature PIN for security

Registration verification

Enter your Competent Person Scheme details in Settings — scheme name, enrolment number, grade/role, and expiry date. These details appear on all certificates you issue. This is required before you can issue any certificates. See the full guide on UK Competent Person Schemes for what NICEIC, NAPIT, ELECSA, STROMA, BESCA, Certsure and ECA cover and how Part P self-certification works.

Navigating the app

Dashboard

Your Dashboard shows all your certificates — drafts, issued, and shared. Use the search bar to find certificates by client name, address, or certificate number. Filter by status or type.

Navigation

The top navigation bar gives you quick access to:

Mobile app

WireWrite works as a web app on any device. On mobile, tap the hamburger menu (three lines) in the top right to access all navigation options. You can also install WireWrite as an app on your phone for quick access — look for the "Install App" option in the menu.

Your first certificate

Creating a certificate takes just a few minutes. Here's how:

  1. 1

    Choose your certificate type

Select from Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), Minor Works Certificate, or Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). EICs default to BS 7671:2018+A4:2026.

  2. 2

    Fill in the details

The wizard guides you through each section step by step — client details, job address, supply characteristics, schedule of inspections, circuit details, and test results. Your work is auto-saved as you go.

  3. 3

    Review and sign

On the final step, review all your details. When you're ready, sign the certificate using your saved signature and PIN. You can preview the PDF before issuing.

  4. 4

    Issue and share

Once issued, download the PDF or email it directly to your client. The certificate is stored in your dashboard and can be accessed any time within the retention period your scheme requires.

Tip: Make sure your profile and scheme registration are set up before trying to issue a certificate. The app will prompt you if anything is missing.
