Seat prices are exclusive of VAT — 20% is added at checkout. A sole trader on 1 seat pays £4 + £0.80 VAT = £4.80/month. A 5-seat company pays £4 × 5 = £20 + £4 VAT = £24/month. Annual billing is paid up front and locks in the rate for the year.
Managing your subscription
Subscription management is handled through Stripe's secure customer portal. Open the Settings page in WireWrite and click Manage Billing to:
- Switch between monthly and annual billing
- Update your payment card
- Download past invoices and receipts
- Update your billing address
- Cancel your subscription
Invoices & VAT
All invoices are generated by Stripe on behalf of Phase Logic Ltd and available for download from the billing portal. Each invoice is a valid VAT invoice under HMRC rules.
VAT is collected on UK sales under HMRC's digital-services rules. Every invoice includes the supplier name, our VAT number (once registered), invoice number, date, line items, the 20% VAT amount and the total — everything you need to recover input VAT on your next return.
To download an invoice: Settings → Manage Billing → Invoices tab. Each invoice is a downloadable PDF.
Cancellation
You can cancel anytime from the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then.
After cancellation, your account becomes read-only. You can still sign in and download PDFs of previously issued BS 7671 certificates for your records, but you cannot create new ones. Re-subscribing at any time restores full access and brings back all your saved drafts.

Does WireWrite issue valid UK VAT invoices?
Yes. Every invoice is generated by Stripe on behalf of Phase Logic Ltd and includes the supplier name, VAT number once registered, invoice number, date, line items, VAT rate, VAT amount and total. Invoices are downloadable as PDF from the billing portal and meet HMRC's VAT invoice requirements for input tax recovery.
How is UK VAT applied at checkout?
VAT is collected on UK sales under HMRC's digital-services rules. Seat prices are quoted exclusive of VAT: £4 a seat per month becomes £4.80 at checkout when 20% VAT is added. The split shows clearly on every invoice.
How do I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Open the Settings page in WireWrite, click Manage Billing, and select the plan switch you want. Stripe prorates the difference automatically: if you switch from monthly to annual mid-cycle, you are credited for the unused portion of the current month. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect at the next renewal so you keep the discount you already paid for.
How do I cancel my WireWrite subscription?
Click Manage Billing on the Settings page and cancel from the Stripe portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep full access until that date. After cancellation, your account becomes read-only: you can still sign in and download PDFs of previously issued certificates but cannot create new ones.
Can I add or remove seats mid-month?
Yes. Add a team member from the company dashboard at any time. Stripe prorates the seat cost from the day you added them through to the next renewal. Removing a seat (deactivating a worker) stops the meter immediately and the prorated credit is applied to your next invoice.
Where can I download past invoices?
All past invoices are available in the Stripe billing portal under the Invoices tab. Click Manage Billing from the Settings page to open the portal. Each invoice is a downloadable PDF and includes all the fields required to claim a VAT input credit under HMRC rules.
